Sarah Ogundare joined Relman Colfax in June 2024 for a two-year term as a civil rights paralegal. She contributes to the firm's civil rights litigation and counseling practices.
Sarah graduated from Brown University in May 2024 with a B.A. in International and Public Affairs and a Certificate in Data Fluency. There, she deepened her interest in justice for everyone – racial, housing, data, environmental and more - all of which intersect within the realm of civil rights. As an Undergraduate Research Scholar in the Justice Policy Lab, she conducted independent research to understand the impact of prison closure on rural communities of color. She enjoyed pairing her academic work in Providence with direct service through economic justice organizations like the George Wiley Center and with direct outreach through housing justice groups like Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere. Additionally, she interned at the Bronx Defenders where she supported case management and worked with clients of her own in the Benefits Clinic.
Sarah also joined the firm as a John R. Lewis Scholar, a program through the Faith and Politics Institute which allows her to draw inspiration from the late Congressman's life and legacy as a civil rights leader.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys experimental cooking, collaborative creative writing, running, and joining book clubs.
